Piano Class II

Course Description

Piano Class II is for Music Majors who have passed or have been exempted from Piano Class I. Technique will cover two octave scales, one-hand arpeggios, seventh chords in closed, small, and large open positions, and root position chord progressions in all major and minor keys. Students will learn a variety of repertoire from various styles and periods, developing sight-reading, transposition, improvisation, and harmonization skills. The completion of the Piano Class II sequence along with the passing of the Piano Class II Final Exam will fulfill the piano proficiency (MUA 230) requirement.
